You need enough heat to get those resins to lock together, but not so much that you end up scorching your parts.&#xA;That&amp;rsquo;s where halogen-filled quartz tubes come in. Most IR lamps just burn through their filament, but halogen actually cycles the evaporated tungsten back into the wire. It&amp;rsquo;s a clever little loop that lets us crank up the heat, shifting the light into that shortwave IR range where the real work happens.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The nitty-gritty on power and voltage&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;When we&amp;rsquo;re picking a lamp, we&amp;rsquo;re really looking at how much heat is hitting every square inch of the surface. Put more wattage into a shorter tube, and you&amp;rsquo;ve got a much more intense energy hit.&#xA;Now, if you&amp;rsquo;re deciding between a 230V or 400V system, it mostly comes down to your wiring. Higher voltage means less current, which keeps your cables from getting too hot. But a word of warning: if you push too many watts into a short tube and your reflectors are dirty or crooked, you&amp;rsquo;re asking for a burnout. Keep those mirrors clean.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;Quartz and the &amp;ldquo;blindness&amp;rdquo; factor&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;The quartz envelope is there for a reason—it can handle the wild temperature swings without cracking. Depending on how you want to install them, we use R7s or SK15 connectors. Some people like the quick push-in fit; others want the security of a mechanical lock.&#xA;One thing we do for paint lines is add a special coating to the quartz. It does two things: it tunes the light so the paint absorbs it better, and it stops the lamps from blinding your team on the shop floor. Nobody likes working in a strobe light.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The trade-offs you should know about&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;The best part? These things heat up instantly. You can hit your target temp in seconds, which means you can shrink your drying tunnel and save a ton of floor space.&#xA;But there is a catch. Shortwave IR doesn&amp;rsquo;t dive deep. If your paint layer is too thick, the top will &amp;ldquo;skin over&amp;rdquo; while the bottom stays wet. It&amp;rsquo;s a nightmare. To avoid that—and to stop &amp;ldquo;orange peel&amp;rdquo; or bubbling from happening—you&amp;rsquo;ve got to find the sweet spot between how hot the lamps are and how fast your conveyor is moving.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
